New Improvements…

November 11th, 2008

We’ve added a few improvements recently which we think you might enjoy.  They are small, but expanded features which will hopefully get you the information you want more quickly.

  • We’ve now added full length video trailers from YouTube to our Movie listings.  If you’re like me, and need to actually see a trailer before deciding which film to go see, this should really help.

  • Our News reader now allows you to:
    1. View stories related to the one your reading
    2. Easily bookmark headlines with your favourite bookmarking service or email these headlines so you can share with your friends/co-workers/family

  • We’ve also created a ‘My Settings‘ feature (on the top left of your TIL page, next to the help symbol), which allows you to select which page you’d like to start on. If you use TIL primarily to find out what the traffic is like, then select the traffic page and the next time you visit The Informed Life Beta App you’ll be taken straight to the content you want.

Slow progress?

October 16th, 2008

About the same time I finished the spec for our API, our ePartnerup project started to attract a lot of attention. The team’s efforts have been directed over there as we try to raise seed funding to build that service properly.

While new features and updates to The Informed Life may be rolling down the pipe a little more slowly than normal, we’re still committed and interested in this project. Stay tuned…

Feature Update…

January 29th, 2008

We’ve recently added a few more visual features to TIL.

  1. Road Conditions are now mapped in an improved format.  You can click on each highway symbol to reveal the current conditions.
  2. Trains now reveals a system map which will highlight, with flashing icons, any problematic sections.  Click on the icon to reveal the incident details.
  3. Forecast has been streamlined to improve it’s comprehensiveness.  Hover over each day to reveal the full forecast details.  The temperature display now includes a thermometer.  Colder temperatures are displayed in the blue portions of the image and warmer temperatures in the red.

If at any time you require help to understand any feature of TIL, click on the Help Symbol at the top right-hand side of the screen.

Hope you enjoy our new improvements…
